Grade 2 - This activity is going to be used to learn about the classification process that is used by Entomologists.

Grade 3/4 - students explore the diversity of insects that live around them, and to discover that insects are grouped and categorized according to similarities and differences

Bug Hunt
Grade 4 - Students will learn to distinguish between insects using distinguishing physical characteristics that particular insects have.

Who Am I?
Grade 4 - teaches students to identify and classify insects using a live insect.
Grade Level(s): 3-5;

What kind of Insect is that?
Grade 5 - The student will be able to recognize certain set of characteristics of an insect and be able to classify an insect according to the Linnaen system

Insect Unit
Grade 7 - This one-week insect unit is designed to focus on selection, collection and classification of various insects; each activity addresses several scientific processes.
Grade Level(s): 6-8

 

Tall, Dark, and Handsome
Grade 7 - The students will list characteristics that they share with the rest of their family and compare and contrast the characteristics to other students in the classroom. The students will apply their knowledge of recognizing special characteristics to categorize pictures of different insects.
