From the creator of Bulletproof Coffee and author of the bestselling The Bulletproof Diet comes a revolutionary plan to upgrade your brainpower—in two weeks or less.

For the last decade, Silicon Valley entrepreneur Dave Asprey has worked with world-renowned doctors and scientists to uncover the latest, most innovative methods for making humans perform better—a process known as "biohacking." In his first book, The Bulletproof Diet, he shared his biohacking tips for taking control of your own biology. Now, in Head Strong, Asprey shows readers how to biohack their way to a sharper, smarter, faster, more resilient brain.

Imagine feeling like your mind is operating at its clearest and sharpest, and being able—possibly for the first time in your life—to do more in less time? What it suddenly became easier to do the very hardest things you do? Or if you could feel 100% confident about your intellect, and never again fear being the person in the room who just isn’t smart enough, or can’t remember something important? How would you treat people if the mood swings, short temper, and food cravings that disrupt your day could simply disappear?

In Head Strong, Asprey shows us that all of this is possible—and more. Using his simple lifestyle modifications (or "hacks") to take advantage of how the structure of your brain works, readers will learn how to take their mental performance to the next level. Combining the latest findings in neuroscience and neurobiology with a hacker-inspired "get it done now" perspective, Asprey offers a program structured around key areas of brain performance that will help you:

  • Power the brain with exactly what it needs to perform at its best all day long
  • Eliminate the sources of "kryptonite," both nutritional and environmental, that make the brain slower.
  • Supercharge the cellular powerhouses of our brains, the mitochondria, to eliminate cravings and turn up mental focus.
  • Reverse inflammation to perform better right now, then stay sharp and energized well into your golden years.
  • Promote neuron growth to enhance processing speed and reinforce new learning—hotwiring your brain for success.

Asprey’s easy to follow, two-week program offers a detailed plan to supercharge brain performance, including: which foods to eat and which ones to avoid, how to incorporate the right kinds of physical activity into your day, a detox protocol for your home and body; meditation and breathing for performance, recommended brain-boosting supplements; and how to adjust the lighting in your home and work space to give your brain the quality light it thrives on.

A better brain—and a happier, easier, more productive life—is within reach. You just need to get Head Strong.

What are the simplest things you can do to be better at everything?

Knowing this leads to being bulletproof, the state of high performance where you take control of and improve your biochemistry, your body, and your mind so they work in unison, helping you execute at levels far beyond what you'd expect, without burning out, getting sick, or just acting like a stressed-out jerk. It used to take a lifetime to radically rewire the human body and mind this way. Technology has changed the rules.

The essence of being happily human is to be creative. Few things in life are more fulfilling than transforming something old or non-existent into something new, better, faster, less expensive, more lucrative, joyful, efficient, effective, etc. And the secret to creative power is to get lost in what you're "creating." Getting lost is necessary to finding what's new.

The secret to creativity is getting lost

Why? Because you can't come up with something new, different or original using your same old thinking mind. The metaphor and cliché for this concept is "thinking outside the box." But that's a misnomer because creativity is only partially about thinking. The purpose of thinking and feeling is just to get things started, get the creative process stimulated -- not to get the answer directly. This is where you may be going astray. The answer cannot be completely thought out no matter how smart you think you are.

Outside-the-box means outside the conscious, personal, thinking mind and into the subconscious, knowing mind. That's where all the creative power and action is. That's the faculty the answers come from. That's the higher level of consciousness you want to operate on all the time to be creative all the time. This is a form of meditation, perhaps the highest form.

All your thinking mind has to do is just get out the of way and let the creative process unfold. It unfolds from the subconscious by itself to the degree your personal, thinking/feeling mind is out of the way -- your ego is out of the way! Don't try, push or stress. That's the catch: Your effort needs to be effortless for it to work.

First, think or brainstorm about the new thing you strongly desire to create. Once it's clearly in mind and you're satisfied it is, then let it go. Drop it. Detach from it. Let it incubate. Let it sink into the subconscious for advanced processing.

Finally, just be calmly and patiently receptive to the answer -- which is guaranteed to come to the degree you are persistent and convinced that it will come.

You become a creator, inventor, explorer of that which is new and different -- that which has never been produced or expressed exactly this way before. Your getting lost in uncharted, unknown territory is the great joy, thrill and adventure of creation. You were created to be a creator, and fulfilling that purpose is what the good life is all about.

Little changes can make a big, big difference!  In The Little Book of Big Change, psychologist Amy Johnson shows you how to rewire your brain and overcome your bad habits—once and for all.
No matter what your bad habit is, you have the power to change it. Drawing on a powerful combination of neuroscience and spirituality, this book will show you that you are not your habits. Rather, your habits and addictions are the result of simple brain wiring that is easily reversed. By learning to stop bad habits at the source, you will take charge of your habits and addictions for good.
Anything done repeatedly has the potential to form neural circuitry in the brain. In this light, habits and addictions are impersonal brain wiring problems that result from taking your habitual thinking as truth, and acting on that thinking in the form of doing your habit—over and over. This book offers a number of small changes you can make in your everyday life that will help you stop your bad habit in its tracks.
If you want to understand the science behind your habit, make the decision to end it, and commit to real, lasting change, this book will help you to finally take charge of your life—once and for all.

As more and more baby boomers approach their senior years, they often share with me their concerns about dementia, Alzheimer's, and other mental disabilities. They often want to know, "is there anything I can do to stay mentally fit as I grow older?" Fortunately the answer is yes. Let me give you the details.

Two important studies on the mental deterioration associated with aging were conducted years ago. The studies were called "The Baltimore and Seattle Longitudinal Studies On Aging," and what they discovered provides the answer to the problem you are seeking. The studies analyzed individuals who were 80 years old or older. You are going to like what it revealed.

The story showed that people who read books on a regular basis had a much lower frequency of both dementia and Alzheimer's disease. While the frequent reading of books did not cure Alzheimer's it did slow down its progression. The same was true with dementia. More interesting was the fact the individuals who hadn't been reading were able to reap these benefits by starting on a regular reading program. Here is the reason why they believe this occurs.

If you are over thirty years old, then your brain is losing thousands of neurons every day. This is a normal part of aging. When your approaching eighty then years of losing neurons can begin to affect your memory. However, people who read books stimulated their brains. This extra stimulation made the existing neurons form more connections. Connections that helped to compensate for the neurons that were lost. As a result they had better mental acuity even at advanced ages.

What is the lesson to be learned from this? If you are a baby boomer and you want to keep your brain mentally fit, then you need to exercise it regularly. The best exercise is to continually read as you grow older. Your brain will reward you for doing this by staying focused and sharp as you grow older.

In this new RSAnimate Steven Pinker shows us how the mind turns the finite building blocks of language into infinite meanings.

Do they merely express thoughts, or do the structures in languages (without our knowledge or consent) shape the very thoughts we wish to express?

New cognitive research suggests that language profoundly influences the way people see the world

Many previous studies have shown through the use of neuroimaging that meditation can change the brain. But most of those studies have looked at medium to long-term meditators. Some looked at monks who had meditated for decades, and some looked at new meditators who had meditated daily for 6 to 8 weeks. At least this much meditation practice was thought to be necessary to create measurable changes in the brain.

But a new study at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte suggests that brain changes may happen much more quickly, in as few as four days!

Intelligence is something most people wish they had more in abundance because it can open doors, create wealth and make it possible for you to do things easier. If you are one of these people the read on as the few steps may just be the key to the doorway of a better life.

Below you will find the seven steps that will help your brain work better and speed you on your quest for the things you want out of life.

1. One key to a healthy mind is a healthy body

By becoming fit your heart works better and pumps blood easier to supply oxygen to your brain. So it follows that a light exercise program will get you on your way to a fitter you. Stay active by walking or do some simple exercises in your home like deep knee bends or situps.

A simple work-out can trigger endorphins, which are responsible for making us feel happy. By feeling this way we have a more positive outlook which will have a positive effect on the brain.

2. Feeding your body the right foods also feeds your brain.

Adding natural supplements such as vitamins and minerals not only have a nutritional effect on your body, but on your mind as well. The results of course are better brain power! Natural supplements can be found in health food stores or for sale on the Internet.

3. Exercise your brain

We all know that exercise will keep your body fit and the same holds true for the brain. Use your brain everyday to think, memorize, even play word games like scrabble or crossword puzzles. Any activity that will make you use your brain will be beneficial. So read, talk with others, or meditate. All of these things will stimulate your brain.

4. Turn off the TV and write something

Let your imagination wander and write a fictional short story. Start a journal or read an article and expand on it. There are many things that you can write about that will help keep your brain active and alert.

5. Pick an educational hobby

There are many to choose from, like stamp collecting or start a coin collection. Find out which ones are valuable. I have a friend that paid off his 30 year mortgage in a year by finding valuable coins. Whatever you pick it should be something that you have to do some research on, so make sure it is a subject you are interested in pursuing. The purpose of this is to start using parts of your brain that aren't normally used or haven't been used before. Learning to play a musical instrument is a good way to use new parts of the brain.

6. Get plenty of sleep

When you sleep your body recharges and rebuilds itself. Sleeping is benefficial to your overall health and you should try to get six to eight hours every night. If at all possible take ten-minute power naps as well. Sleeping well will keep you energized so you'll be ready, willing and able to be active. Don't deprive yourself of sleep as it also allows the brain to function better by being more alert.

7. Find peaceful repose

Relax in a nice easy chair and let the worries and cares of the day fall away. Rid yourself of the anxiety and stress of work, family life and social activities. Try to let your mind be completely at rest for 15 to 30 minutes each day. This will give you inner peace and serenity. Become one with your surroundings. Listen to the gentle sounds of nature around you and bask in the glory of the world around.

Remember negative thoughts cause us to become tense. Happy, positive thoughts put us in a better frame of mind, where our minds will work more efficiently and effectively.

Once you find you have taken the seven steps as far as they can go in boosting your mind power you may want to increase your mind power even more. Unlocking your true mind power is not only possible, but the scope of it is incredible. There is a clinically proven method of doing just that. To learn more about this method just CLICK HERE!

Researchers say a wandering mind may be important to setting goals, making discoveries, and living a balanced life.

I am going to do my best to hold your attention until the very last word of this column. Actually, I know it’s futile. Along the way, your mind will wander off, then return, then drift away again. But I can console myself with some recent research on the subject of mind wandering. Mind wandering is not necessarily the sign of a boring column. It’s just one of the things that make us human.

Everybody knows what it is like for our minds to wander, and yet, for a long time psychologists shied away from examining the experience. It seemed too elusive and subjective to study scientifically. Only in the past decade have they even measured just how common mind wandering is. The answer is very. >>>

What is self improvement? Well, the dictionary defines self improvement as "improvement of one's mind, character, etc. through one's own efforts. Seems pretty simple and straight forward.
So logically, the next question one would ask themselves is what should the efforts consist of? In other words, what techniques, principles & resources work most effectively?
Well, that is a question that Clinical Hypnotherapist, Steve G. Jones has been asking himself for many years.
Since the 1980's, Steve has been changing the lives of people all over the world for the better using the power of hypnosis.
One thing that he has always kept in mind in his search is that there is no "one magical formula" that can completely improve every single aspect of your life. Enhancing your level of self improvement is a process that consists of many different techniques and formulas. After all, one's self consists of many things and because we are all different, some of us need more improvement in certain places than others.
Taking the necessary steps toward enhancing your self improvement is like exercising. Only instead of training your body, you're training your mind.
When you exercise or train your body, there is no one universal program known to man that works for everyone. Rather, effective programs consist of a combination of many different techniques and exercises that come together at different points that create the desired result.
For example, let's say your goal is to build muscle. Because your entire body consists of different muscles that do different things, different exercises are required for each one. And for each muscle, there's probably 5-7 different exercises that you can perform to achieve your overall fitness goal.
Training your mind is no different. The techniques that you apply should always vary. The important thing is that they actually work.
Many people however, don't take the process of training their brain as seriously as they should.
They spend all of their time, money and energy on resources that they think will improve their lives without ever actually investing in their mind.
Think of your mind as the root and everything else as the branches.
The roots set the stage of success for everything else.
If you invest in your mind, everything else will fall into place.
And that's why Steve G. Jones, M.Ed. is proud to present his newest creation. Introducing the all new Brain Power Control System...
Consisting of Four Empowering Hypnosis Modules, this program will reveal secrets like:
